His Excellency Binh Trachhai, Minister of Planning, granted permission for His Excellency Nguyen Minh Vu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Cambodia, to pay a courtesy call and discuss work at the Ministry’s office.

Speaking at the courtesy call and working meeting, HE the Minister and HE the Ambassador highlighted the close relations and cooperation in all sectors and at all levels of the two countries. At the same time, the two sides pledged to continue to promote and further expand the existing relations and cooperation in line with the spirit of traditional friendship, good neighborliness, long-term relations and comprehensive strategic partnership.


During the meeting, HE Nguyen Minh Vu said that through bilateral economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, in early 2025, there has been a significant increase that has benefited both sides, with Vietnam becoming the second largest country to which Cambodia imported goods. HE added that this year, HE met with Vietnamese investors at a business forum attended by approximately 150 companies, all of whom are companies wishing to invest in Cambodia. At this forum, HE will promote the potential and investment opportunities in Cambodia and mobilize those companies to invest in Cambodia.


In response, HE the Minister thanked HE the Ambassador for his efforts to encourage Vietnamese investors to Cambodia and highlighted that during the 7th term of the National Assembly, the Royal Government of Cambodia has made profound reforms to facilitate and attract investors from all walks of life to Cambodia. Through the factors of peace, stability, politics and economic growth of Cambodia, domestic and foreign investors have trusted the Royal Government under the wise and skillful leadership of His Majesty the King Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and have made successive investments. During the meeting, HE the Minister also requested the Vietnamese side to assist in training Cambodian human resources in planning and statistics, monitoring, supervision and evaluation, as well as technological systems used in censuses and surveys in Cambodia.
